Zhejiang University (ZJU) is one of China\u2019s\ntop higher education institutions, as well as one of its oldest; its roots can\nbe traced back to 1897 and the founding of the Qiushi Academy. Located in\nHangzhou \u2013 one of China\u2019s most picturesque cities \u2013 the University is organized\nacross seven faculties and 37 schools. It is home to 3,741 full-time faculty\nmembers, including 46 members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the\nChinese Academy of Engineering. ZJU has 54,641 students, over 53% of whom are\npostgraduate students. ZJU has partnerships in place with more than 190\ninstitutions from more than 30 countries worldwide. Included among them are\nsuch leading institutions as Imperial College London, the University of Sydney\nand the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a cohort of 7,074 international\nstudents, and around 8,000 faculty and students who participate annually in\nvarious overseas mobility programs, ZJU fully harnesses its extensive network\nto nurture talent with a global outlook. ZJU offers an impressive array of\nglobal study programs, including semester exchange, summer schools, internships\nand cultural immersion abroad. For university-level programs, applications are\nnormally submitted to the Undergraduate School or the Graduate School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The university had its first enrollment of\ninternational students in 1979 and since then, nearly 30,000 international\nstudents have come to study in the school. In 2017, the International College\ngave admission to, both long-term and short-term, more than 6,800 overseas\nstudents coming from 148 countries across the world, including 777 doctoral\ncandidates, 906 graduate students, 2433 undergraduate students, 588 visiting\nstudents, 1,382 long-term Chinese language students and 757 students of\nshort-term programs. The college has a strong teaching faculty composed of more\nthan 40 full-time teachers and over 40 part-time teachers, including 2\nprofessors and 5 associate professors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, the International College\naccepts over 900 CSC scholarship students. Meanwhile, we also offer college\nscholarship to international students who achieve excellent academic\nperformance, abide by laws and school regulations and study in our school for\nmore than one academic year, and in addition, we provide scholarship for\napplicants of high competitiveness. We attach great importance to building\nlong-term and close co-operation with foreign universities and overseas study\nagencies. Each year hundreds of university exchange students and students\nrecommended by study abroad agencies come to our school to attend academic\nprograms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the long and short term\nChinese Language and Culture programs, the college has been running an\nundergraduate program of Chinese Studies (with focus on Economics and Trade\/Tourism\nManagement), and a graduate program of Chinese Studies will be offered when\npreparation is completed. We have a HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Test Center\nwhich holds the test on April, June and November every year. The majority of\nthe students attending the language program have achieved satisfactory grades\nin the past tests. We also run short-term programs for group students, with\nfocus on different subjects such as Chinese language, culture, economics and\ntrade, business administration, music, weiqi, calligraphy, painting and so on.\nEach year about 800 group students come to our university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
