Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive\nand key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry\nof Education. For the past century, Wuhan University has built an elegant\npalatial architectural complex of primitive simplicity which blends perfectly\nthe eastern architectural style with that of the west. It is honored as the\n“Most Beautiful University in China.” Now Wuhan University is\nendeavoring to shape itself into a world-class comprehensive research\nuniversity domestically and internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wuhan University has a long history of\ninternational students\u2019 education. Since 1950s, it had begun to enroll oversea\nstudents. It is one of the earliest universities to recruit foreign students.\nIn 2016, Wuhan University has more than 3500 international students, covering\n200 majors in 30 schools (departments, research centers), and now it has\ndeveloped gradually into the biggest international students\u2019 destination in\ncentral and western China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Burgeoning are the international exchanges\nof Wuhan University. It has developed cooperative and exchange associations\nwith over 350 universities and research institutions in more than 40 countries\nand regions, and signed long-term cooperative agreements with 200 of them. Each\nyear it welcomes over 3,000 overseas visitors for academic visit and exchange,\nhosts 30 international and Cross-Strait conferences, invites over 100 long-term\nforeign experts and 500 short-term foreign experts for teaching and lectures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the service in international\neducation, research, management and administration, SIE has accumulated\nabundant teaching experience, management experience and research outcomes.\nThere are 48 full-time teachers, among which 33 are TCFL teachers. In all the\n33 TCFL teachers, there are 5 professors and 10 associate professors—-senior\nlevel faculty takes about 45.5%; and 26 (78.8%) have got a PhD degree or are in\nthe process of studying for one; there are 25 (up to 81%) have got the\nqualification certificates issued by the Ministry of Education for teaching\nChinese language to foreigners; including 14 members of the International\nSociety for Chinese Language Teaching. In addition to the above full-time\nteachers, the school have also recruited more than 10 part-time teachers and\nmany academicians in Chinese language teaching.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Scholar Program is an one-year\nnon-degree program. Majors and\napplication requirements are the same as bachelor\u2019s degree program and master\u2019s\ndegree program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senior Scholar Program is an one-year\nnon-degree program. Majors and\napplication requirements are the same as doctoral degree program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
School of International Education offers 1\nto 4 weeks short-term Chinese language\/Chinese culture program. This program is\nonly available for student groups of 15 people or more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
