It is a major internationalized university\nin South China for its global-minded faculty\/students and its research on\ninternational language, literature, culture, trade and strategic studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1986-Guangdong University of Foreign\nStudies, then named Guangzhou Foreign Languages College joined the 60 other\nuniversities in China, found a Research Center for Teaching Chinese to\nNon-Chinese Speakers. This Research Center has laid the foundation for Chinese\nlanguage teaching and research of today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The university was accredited as one of the\nearliest universities to teach Chinese for non-Chinese speakers. Therefore, the\nInstitute for International Education has long been responsible for\ninternational students enrollment, teaching and administration. In 2016, the\nuniversity has received 2707 international students from over 123 countries and\nregions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Accredited among the first group of 28 universities and colleges as\nthe Model Base for Studying in China by the Ministry of Education in August\n2013.<\/li><li>Scholarships of all levels available for international students:\nChinese government scholarship, Confucius Institute Scholarship, Guangdong\nProvincial Givernment Scholarship and GDUFS Scholarship.<\/li><li>Flexible program setup with year-round application and\naptitude-based teaching.<\/li><li>Competent faculty with relevant Chinese teaching experience\ninternationally<\/li><li>Regular site visits to local trade centers and international\ncompanies in Guangdong province.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Long-Term\/Short-Term Chinese Language Training Programs&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Introductory, Elementary, Intermediate and\nAdvanced Levels.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are accepted throughout the\nyear. Elementary and above-level students are eligible for immediate enrollment.\nFlexible term arrangements are available to meet individual needs: Length of\nstudy may include 4 weeks, 8 weeks, half year, 1 year and\/or up to several\nyears.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Intensive Chinese Training Programs (for Winter and Summer\nVacations)&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These 4-week programs begin in January and\nJuly each year. Participants at the Introductory, Elementary and Intermediate\nlevels can take intensive courses in Communicative Chinese under respective\nprogram frameworks.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Guangwai International Summer School Program&nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This two-week programme aims to provide\ninternational students with opportunities to explore the secrets to China\nbusiness, society and culture through lectures, seminars, discussions, visits\nto government entities and companies, and networking with people from different\nfields and backgrounds. Two weeks from around the end of July to early August\neach year.
