HOME-COMING

(Tang Dynasty · He Zhizhang)

I left home when young and return now old

Unchanged my accent, a-thining my hair

The kids see me but don’t know who I am

They smile to ask: where are you from, from where?

HOME-COMING

(Tang Dynasty · He Zhizhang)

Since I left my homeland, so many years has passed,

So such has faded away and so little can last.

Only in Mirror Lake before my very door

The vernal wind still ripples the water as before.
